Can I bring my glowsticks and take my shirt off in the club while blowing my whistle?

In a word, no. matter is a no glowstick, no whistle, shirt on venue.

Can I leave and come back after I get into matter?

No. There is no re-entry once you are inside the club.

Can I pay by card at the bar?

Yes you can. All major cards are accepted. The minimum transaction amount is £20.

Can I pay by card on the door?

No. Only cash payments are accepted for door entry.

Can I take photos/video footage inside the club?

Taking pictures with mobile phones and basic point and click cameras is no problem. Larger SLR cameras and camcorders are not permitted.

Do you have a smoking area?

We do. There is a large outdoor area to smoke which can be accessed at the edge of the main dancefloor. Cigarettes can be purchased from machines inside the club

Do you have any cash machines inside matter?

There are three cash machines in the venue, one in the main entrance foyer and one next to each of the two bars in the main room

Do you take any other currency other than GBP sterling?

We only accept British pounds. That means no Euros, Greenbacks or Siamese gambling tokens.

How much are the drinks at matter?

Bottles of beer, glasses of wine and a house spirit and mixer will set you back £4.50 each. Soft drinks and bottles of water are £2.50.

I lost my coat/bag/phone/wallet/marbles. What is the process for finding out about lost property?

If you lose anything in the club or have left an item in the cloakroom please call 0203 260 7404 and follow the automated prompts or email the cloakroom team . If your item is located we will contact you as soon as possible. Due to the large amount of enquiries received we will not respond if we do not locate your item.

Lost property enquiries are handled once a week so your query may not be dealt with immediately

I’m a poor student. Do you have any discounts for me?

Absolutely. We can offer student discounts when they present a valid student ID card to the cashiers if they attend one of these institutions:
Westminster, UAL, UCL, LSE, Kings, Kingston, Brunel, Royal Holloway, UEL, University of Essex, Bromley College, Ravensbourne College, Lewisham College, Goldsmiths, Kent University, Canterbury Christ Church, Middlesex , Brighton, Sussex, Surrey, Reading, Cambridge, Oxford, Buckinghamshire Chilterns , London Met, Queen Mary , Southbank, Roehampton, New York University In London, Imperial College.

Is there a matter membership scheme?

What about a cloakroom? How much will it cost to stash my stuff?

We have two cloakrooms, one at the main entrance and one at the far side of the club. Most nights both will be open. Cloakroom will cost you £1 per item

What age do you have to be to get in to matter?

Unless otherwise stated all customers must be 18 and over to get into matter. We enforce the challenge 21 scheme, so if you’re fortunate enough to look youthful, you must bring ID. A passport or photo driver’s licence is the only accepted form of identification. Originals only - no copies, no exceptions

What is the dress code for matter?

matter operates a casual dress code. Your best dancing sneakers are essential!

When can I pick up lost property?

The cloakroom will be open to pick up lost property at the following times only:

Friday: 8.30pm – 11.00pm
Saturday: 8.30pm – 11.00pm
Tuesday: 4pm – 8.30pm

Please bring your cloakroom ticket with you if you have left an item in the cloakroom. Without it we cannot guarantee the return of your belongings

Where can I buy tickets in advance?
